What happens when you take a dude like Jay from Jay and Silent Bob, cross him with a Mohican, put him in jail for a couple years for skating have him come out sounding like Zach De La Rocha with Eminiem’s complexity yet miraculously easy to understand lyricism and what do you get? Yelawolf.
I just got home from seeing this dude live. I haven’t gotten excited about hip hop in years but this dude is dope. I don’t think anyone has yet to capture his voice or energy the way it is at a live show. I really hope someone does.
This kid is raw, and passionate. This kid really cares about what he does. He’s done his homework. Which is saying a lot since most of these kids trying to rhyme have listened to maybe 4 albums and want to be famous as soon as possible.
Fuck that.
